Avon
Avon, Indiana is a fast growing community of about 13,000 people. It officially became a town on November 30, 1995. Through history it had many names such as Hampton, White Lick, Smootsdale and New Philadelphia, before finally becoming Avon. This town is located just 12 Miles west of Downtown Indianapolis in Hendricks County.

Avon’s Education
Avon's public school system is the Avon Community School Corporation. Avon has several colleges and universities in close proximity to the town and include Butler University, Ivy Tech State College-Central Indiana, the University of Indianapolis and Anderson University.

Avon has a wide variety of shopping. This town has many strip malls that houses everything from major retailers like SuperTarget and Lowes to locally owned shoppes. This town is also close to several enclosed malls. It's only a short 20 minute drive from Circle Center Mall.

There are endless restaurants for every taste in Avon. They have everything from fast food to fine dining. Most are located along the stretch of US Highway 36 from 465 to SR 267. Here you will find chain restaurants like Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse, O'Charley's and Smokey Bones but also a mix of local owned restaurants and diners.

Avon Parks
Avon is truly a family-focused community that provides residents and visitors a variety of recreational opportunities close to home. Avon is home to two seventy-plus acre parks that offer first-rate facilities, rental shelters and walking trails. Avon Town Hall Park has the only outdoor table tennis tables in Indiana and also an 18 hole disc golf course while Washington Township Park offers a splash pad, bike trails and pavilion center.
