Staging your Indianapolis Home

Staging your Indianapolis Home

First you will want to start with curb appeal as the moment buyers pull up at your curb, first impressions absolutely matter.  Make sure you or someone (can be hired out) utilizes a pressure washer to remove the dirt etc. from your siding.

Give your kitchen a once over to see where you can improve-storage, paint, clutter on countertops, perhaps a facelift on your cabinets with paint.  You can change out outdated hardware to help update your kitchen’s look.

Go for a more minimalist look when it comes to paring down your furniture.  This helps rooms to appear larger offering more potential to possible buyers.  Make sure buyers can move around furniture with ease, especially around your home’s most appealing features.  Sometimes repositioned couches/sofa’s and chairs into groups for conversation is a better option than having all furniture pushed against the walls.

If there isn’t room to create a room of workspace, perhaps carving out space in a spare bedroom or a corner of a living room can be an option since more people work from home.

Depersonalizing a bit isn’t going to hurt anything and can sometimes help buyers envision themselves in your space easier.

Declutter your storage spaces with shoe racks, and matching baskets and cloth bins. Straighten up that linen closet or closets so buyers can see potential storage space.

Deep clean your bathroom, remove hard water stains and remove clutter.

Fill your home with pleasant smells.  Plug ins, fresh flowers, deep cleaning all help to make your home have a lovely scent.

Make sure there is plenty of lighting.

Make sure your bedrooms have a serene and inviting appeal.

Don’t leave walls blank-do avoid things that could be offensive to potential buyers.
