Foreclosures are on the Rise in Indianapolis

According to Wish TV and multiple sources, foreclosures are on the rise in Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Foreclosures

Indiana is one of the highest ranking for foreclosures.  According to the Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana Marion County foreclosures have increased over the last three years.  Indiana ranks third highest, behind Delaware and Nevada. It is important to stay informed about housing trends that affect our Indianapolis community. Right now according to sources one foreclosure for every 2,459 housing units as of the beginning of 2025.  Crown Hill is one of the neighborhoods struggling.

What can cause a foreclosure?

Increasing property taxes, homeowners insurance and maintenance costs are making it difficult for some to keep up on their mortgage payments. Racking up debt can also be an issue.

The Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana are working on trying to establish assistance programs, and as we learn more, we will keep you updated on this matter.

You aren't in this battle by yourself if you are struggling.  Talk with your lender, or if you don't understand some of this, have your local Realtor assist you in speaking with your lender to see if there are available options.  Here at Realty World Harbert company we have experts in navigating short sales and foreclosures. If you feel like you are struggling but not past due, talk with your trusted Realtor to list your home if you feel that is you only option.

A few of the agents here are certified Short Sale and Foreclosure agents.
