Franklin IN 2025 Earth Day and Arbor Day

Franklin will host two community cleanup events next week in honor of Earth Day and Arbor Day.

On Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., Franklin Parks and Recreation invites the public to join an Earth Day cleanup at Province Park. Volunteers will meet at Creekside Shelter, located at 298 E. South St.—a large, rock-sided building next to the creek on the park’s south side. Parking is available at the shelter. Participants will help spruce up trails and flower beds, with snacks and drinks provided.

Then on Saturday, April 26, the Franklin Tree Advisory Committee will host a tree planting event at the Franklin Urban Forest on Dunn Street, next to Greenlawn Cemetery. Starting at 10 a.m., volunteers can help plant trees, learn about the importance of urban forests, and discover the many benefits trees bring to the community.
